Dinner @ Carlucci’s

Throughout the year, we aim to hold a series of different events to keep things fresh!

This year, we held our annual members’ Networking Supper at Carlucci’s Italian Restaurant, Dunfermline on Tuesday 27th August.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 course meal, with conversations and laughter lasting long into the evening.

Thank you to the Carlucci Restaurant team for their generous hosting. Support local! If you have an idea for a members event, contact the FWB team: admin@fifewomeninbusiness.com

2024 ASB National Awards

Every year, the Association of Scottish Businesswomen holds an annual awards event to celebrate the achievements of women in business across Scotland.

“This annual event is designed to honour the innovation, resilience, and contributions of female entrepreneurs and professionals who excel in their fields and make significant impacts within their industries and communities.” Association of Scottish Businesswomen

The awards are an opportunity for us as businesswomen to take a moment to pause on all the achievements we have made across the year. (Go on, give yourself some praise!)

This was the first year Fife Women in Business attended the awards since rejoining the ASB earlier in 2024. Every affiliate group was represented and submissions received from members of every affiliate group.

In total over 80 entries across 8 award categories were received, independently judged, and winners announced in Perth in front of almost 100 Scottish business women! Quite the turn out.

We are delighted to share that our very own Sarah Thomson – Och Aye Canoe – won Businesswoman of the Year 2024!

Make sure you get your award submissions in for next year’s event.

Adam Smith Theatre

For all those working in Kirkcaldy or in need of a venue to host a meeting or conference, consider the newly refurbished Adam Smith Theatre.

FWB members were given a tour of a facilities, including hybrid meeting and venue spaces, beautiful cafe, and a makerspace complete with 3D printers for hire!

We were blown away by the transformation. Go take a look for yourself! The Adam Smith Theatre has a chock-a-block schedule of events and shows throughout the year – from the annual Christmas panto through to Lightbulb sessions (collaboration between Civic Digits and CodeBase) exploring data-driven theatre! There really is something for everyone.

Amazon Distribution Centre tour

The Amazon Distribution Centre, Dunfermline, has resumed public warehouse tours, and FWB organised a members-only visit.

Tours of the Dunfermline Distribution Centre (E14) give an opportunity to see behind the scenes of one of the world’s largest companies and Scotland’s biggest distribution centre (2nd largest in the UK).

For anyone who uses Amazon delivery services, if you see a printed E14 on your package, it was packed in our very own Dunfermline Centre.

Amie and her team at Amazon were incredible. We were treated to a really special Q&A session, answering all our burning questions! Here are a few things you might find interesting too:
